Tony Mowbray

They don't but we have a good atmosphere and mowbray deserves to know where he stands
And why does that take a public statement?
This is utter f***ing madness. Obviously if they backed a new coach with funds and he did well then no one would complain, but why gamble instead of retain someone who has shown he can get a tune out of the type of players we're likely to sign as part of our model?

Could be another basket case decision that our club's been littered with in recent history. How about some stability for a change and maybe sign a striker next season?
As good a job as Mowbray has done. His career suggests he is unlikely to keep improving us and take us into the PL.

The club are clearly looking for a better coach that aligns with their ambitions. Who knows what will happen this summer.

It doesn't need to be a public statement, but something has to filter through, to quell discontent going into the new season

What if they haven't decided what they want to do yet? What do you want them to say then?
That they are doing a review of all facets of the club to ensure we build on the advance we have made over the last season. But when you have the owner sitting next to one of the managers we've been linked to twice this season and rumours fanning the flames, its better to show control over the situation

People want the club to tell them something every week. Its stupid, just let them get on with their jobs.

If they've found someone who they think can take us up and keep progressing in the Premier League then I can understand. As good a job as Mowbray has done, his record would suggest he might get us up but that's about it probably.

I'm not expecting them to announce something every week. And it's not stopping them get on with their jobs. I'm not fussed if he stays or goes. But this has been going on for months now and mowbrays interviews only made it worse. I'm just sick of people worrying about it and already slagging the club about it

He won't leave like

The club are absolutely right to have contingency plans in place. Another case of people getting outraged when nothing has actually happened.
As of yesterday he certainly had no idea if he’d be here or not. That’s been the case for a few weeks now - he’s said it to numerous people. He also said that speakman came to see him about the rumours, so he obviously was not given reassurance. Something is clearly going on. Whether any change is actually made is another matter, but there’s enough there for people to voice their opinions on a potential change.

The club need to stick with him this summer. Forget this foreign trendy name shite.

The blokes been great and has clearly built a very good understanding and culture with the players. Back him and let him go again.
Club needs to put this to bed now.
No one could have got more out of the players, and it was only injuries to key CHs that cost us at a time when no one could do anything about it.
I see Coventry have given Robins an extension to his contract; SAFC take note, we’ve been down this road and made the wrong decisions before.

People still being very critical of something that hasn't happened mind

The owners have been virtually perfect since they bought the club, its transformed, I think its fair to say we should trust them a bit and see what happens first.

Binning off a successful manager is so high risk. The bar is set so high - anything less than playoffs will be seen as failure. Anything less than thrilling positive football will be criticised.
The foreign coaches mentioned have no experience of England or the championship.
Tony will be free to manage maybe another championship side meaning we’d be up against him twice and Neil twice! It’s not a great idea.

What worries about Sunderland is the expectation, some dont seem to realise how ridiculous what we achieved is

the whole league is geared towards the success of teams with parachute money. if we get to playoffs next year it will be another amazing achievement, like a really really good one.

I remember when Andre Villas Boas was touted as being the greatest thing since sliced bread. He's now a rally driver.
