Tony Mowbray Rumour

Probably a better bet than someone recommending their mate from the bottom of the SPL just because he's their mate.

We all saw how great mate Jim Rodwell and his fantastic connections turned out.
Yeah, i wouldn't say no to Poyet. He's worked under this kind of set up before. Would have us playing some cracking football imo. These players would thrive under him i reckon.
Wonder if the club leaked Mowbray to gauge reaction.
That's what i was thinking when it broke on Saturday.

The only remit from the club is that they suit the set up we have. I've never heard them mention age as part of that.

As for not paying for players 25+ where has that come from?
Well documented. Was on total sport. AN wanted clarke who went to Boro for 2.5m. But he’s 25 so we wouldn’t do it. As far as I’m aware we haven’t spent a fee on anyone 25 and over. Anyone over that is a free like Pritchard, Batth, Evans etc.

The whole club is about youth and selling players for a profit. Whether or not a manager remit is the same is up for debate. Personally I don’t think the club want an old manager, short term they could compromise. Likewise Mowbray is a free agent so that could swing it.

Short memories indeed, like dropping out of this very division like a rock the last time and 4 years struggling to get out of league 1. Mowbray has vast experience, played over 500 games and managed 800. I might be wrong but I think there's only 1 relegation on his cv as a manager and that was West Brom after he took them up as champions (playing great football).
I might have a short memory fair enough . Your memory is a lot longer mind , it’s 16 years since TM got the baggies up and come on man , let’s be realistic , he’s done fuck all since since.

Poyet much more suited to this squad of players than the last time he was here. I think hed have us playing some realy good football

Mowbray gone odds on though unfortunately

Finished 8th last season with a very young side, that would do us for the rest of the season whilst the club work on a longer term solution.

My initial response to TM was no. But, upon reflection, I think he may be the right choice. His sides play the way we want to. He develops youngsters. He did an excellent job at Blackburn just last season. He’s not a fashionable young coach but, if he was then people would be keen for him based on what he has just done at Blackburn.
Manning etc play a more patient, passing style and it would take quite a lot of adjusting.
Manning plays a pressing 3-4-3 doesn’t he? Certainly did against us anyways from what I can remember.
