Tony Mowbray Rumour

I disagree, ultimately the aim is promotion , this old twat isn't capable of getting that. He will keep us bottom 3rd avoiding relegation until we finally sack him and get back to original project that this appointment is completely at odds with.
To get promoted this season? Nothing has officially happened yet. For all we know it could be a short term appointment until the end of the season.

Keep seeing posts saying “let’s get behind the club”. Wake up. If Mowbray is appointed it’s an admission of a chronic lack of ambition and total mismanagement behind the scenes. Need to make this clear straight away.

Wouldn’t be my pick but…
  • Well thought of by fans at his previous club
  • Has experience of promotion from this league
  • Has experience of keeping newly promoted sides in the championship
  • Favours a youthful team
  • We know he can work with the recruitment team
  • His record everywhere is ok at worst. No major disasters on his cv
Let’s focus on the positives for once eh? People were saying Neil was just the cheap uninspiring choice now they’re apoplectic he’s gone.
Excellent post. I don’t need a head coach who’s a stand-up comedian. As you say, Mowbray is known to be a great coach with younger players.

And that’s where are. We have a young squad. That’s the identity we are building. His experience you’d hope would be of benefit here with them.

He’s also from 20 miles down the road so won’t be f**king off to move back nearer his family. 😆

Finally, club got pelters for arsing about last time around. None of that here. He may look like a sour-faced old sod, but he’s now our sour-faced old sod. I’ll get behind him.

Can have my season card back. Not doing a 400 mile round trip to watch us with that loser in charge. We played well today but the usual lack of depth with no quality subs to replace tiring midfield. They again make several subs and immediately looked better.

Ffs. What a shit weekend

Just tweeted by radio Newcastle...

Sunderland have begun the process of finding a successor to Alex Neil but say Tony Mowbray has not been offered it.

They hope to appoint someone quickly but will not be rushed into an appointment.

Breaking news Sky Sports. Mowbray to become new manager. FUCK ME.

Mowbray is a smoggie, he hates us, alluded to that as much in plenty of interviews
He had been quite outspoken about us through has career in a negative way so I'm really not happy but at the end of the day I want the best for the club so I'll back home.

It never ends well when fans don't like the manager at the start, I doubt he'll last the season 🤷‍♂️

On paper he made sense.

Worked with young players, good on a shoestring budget, stabilised clubs in the championship and had promotions on his CV.

The behind the scenes situation was horrendous however, player morale through the floor, no investment. Sound familiar?

The morale is not through the floor. We’ve just been promoted and were 6th in the league before today.

It’s a strange one. Sky or radio newcastle on opposite sides here but as I posted the op, Stelling clearly said it
