Tommy Watson

Would anyone sign him for say 15 million in the summer?

Monaco have an option to buy for 16m. They’ve already paid just short of a 1m loan fee. He’s been fantastic for them. So the deal would be around 17m.

Wasn’t aware he gone out on loan .

As others have said, his lack of minutes this season won’t have helped his development.

In the summer, I’d be shocked if he doesn’t go out on loan for the whole season. I can actually see him going up to Hearts tbh.

He did pick up a lot of niggly injuries when he was at Brighton earlier in the season which wouldnt have helped him . Also not a great sign at such a young age .

Imagine if him and patto are the reason boro stay down at Wembley
That would be something.
I don't think we had much choice but he's messed his career up a bit. He'd have been playing in the PL quite often this season if you look at Adingra and Mundle's issues.
Hindsight is wonderful isn’t it.

As mint as his goal was, along with everything that has followed, every time I see his name mentioned i'm just reminded of that bloke on the front row at Wembley where Watson ran to celebrate.

Celebrating wildly but still giving him the wanker sign.

I always imagine the bloke was firmly in the "don't let the door hit you on the arse" camp and his brain just couldn't process the cognitive dissonance.

I’m glad he came out and said that Brighton was the better club to continue his development.

Another bit of brilliant advisory work by Mr Harte.
We can smirk and sneer etc but that move has virtually guaranteed à very lucrative financial future for someone barely 20yo
He could have stayed and gone the same route as Neil, Patterson etc. He could have stayed and got injured.
Sometimes the SAFC specs warp the reality that à pro football career is both short and very fickle
Play wise it hasnt worked..yet, and who knows this is as good as it gets right now
I can’t believe any of us , if it were us or our sons could seriously begrudge what he decided to do, regardless of the urging of Harte.

He can’t get a game at Brighton or Millwall but he would often have got a game with us this season??

Aye he wouldn't have played much for us if he had stayed here. Might have went out on loan in August rather than January.

I feel for the lad tbh. Its hard to tell how good he might have done here if he stayed.

Rigg has come on loads this season under the guidence of Xhaka. Watson might have been the same.

I just find it sad. We will forever be in his debt but he jumped ship too early and the grass wasn't greener.
