Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

If he goes this summer we'll be doing well to get £10m with his contract situation.
I'd imagine promotion would make the contract situation get resolved fairly quickly.
It is mad just how much an asking price can inflate with promotion though. We'd probably go from looking at 20m for likes of Jobe, Rigg to 40m overnight. No pressure to sell if you're a Prem outfit.

I wonder how much the deal Rigg got has affected some players. Watson hummed and harred on his pro deal as 17 year old. Cotcher, its believed, didn't sign his because he didn't get the same contract as Rigg. If Watson was unsure about a pro deal at the age of 17 it seems likely that an agent has been whispering in his ear that he was worth the same as Rigg. Personally, I think we did the right thing with Rigg and ultimately we will probably earn about £40M between Watson and Rigg and this will enable us to get to the next level. Whether it works for Cotcher and Watson remains to be seen.
Cotcher is ripping it up for Villa in their under 18, 19 and 21's when he could have been on the bench in the Championship.

He's a mag so hopefully his career slides down the pan.

I know a little about the Rigg situation. He has been away with England and I know exactly how much the city players are commanding. This will have been his starting point in negotiations as well as the fact we could have lost him for nothing. Rigg at 16 was in an unbelievable position.

I really cant see the problem here. He's wanted away and wasn't going to re-sign a contract. He has played a small amount for the first team before getting injured, and has looked poor since his return.

We have got a decent fee and will make if he breaks big there, but in truth the likelihood is he will be playing Championship next season regardless, and there's still a good chance we wont be.

See ya tom, and take that shitbag Harte with yeah

Exactly

Wonder how many of these sticking up for Watson were critical of Bent leaving

Do you want him in the side?

Hrs not committed cant have him playing now
He's a Sunderland lad it wouldn't look good to brighton if he became half arsed, if we had other proper options as back up mundle no but the other options are le fee who we need central and Aleksic who he won't use

He's already half arsed. I hope he never plays another minute
