Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

I wouldn't call Watson integral.
He hasn’t been due to the injury, but he would have been if he’d signed a new deal. Agree he’s replaceable though

The fact Brighton have still paid £10m for him despite his fleeting appearances. He’s a talent

Has a Bridges feel about this one. Let’s just see how it ends up for the lad. Sounds like he’s wanted away for a while now

Harte whispering sweet nothings in his ear about his securing his future sitting on a sofa with popcorn ;)

Hmmm I dinnar. Mundle's still ahead of him.

Bridges showed an awful lot more here over a much longer period than Tommy Watson has.

I concede that Brighton wanting him is at least some indication of his talent.

Either way, it's done, we move on with a bit of money in our pocket. What becomes of Tommy Watson is no longer our concern, but he's not what we need at the minute.

When is his contract up? If he has another year then the rumoured 10m doesn’t seem that good a deal. He hasn’t played that much but is clearly highly rated. A young English player going to a premier league club should attract a premium. Hopefully the 10m is incorrect.

Expires 2026. From now until then his value is only going down.
Is this 10m upfront plus add ons or is the add ons included in the 10m?

£10m guaranteed, with 1 or 2 in add ons, depending on who you read.

He should be made to play every minute of every game for both the first team and the U21's

No subbing him off.

Tell all the opposition players that "Watson said he shagged ya Ma"
Have we still got the cash for certain if he gets snapped ?

Does he get game time for the rest of the season? Will he give 100%? What reception does he get?

He’ll get what the manager decides , if played I reckon he would give 100 % , the nuggets will boo him as you’d expect, everyone else will be indifferent.

No chance he’ll give 100%. He only sees the season as having 7 games left, so he’s not even thinking about playoffs.

You think he’s going to give the same effort as someone like 09 or Hume, whose future is affected massively by whether we’re promoted or not?

I do actually ,and I think he won’t burn any bridges on the way out .

Why would he ?
