Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Seemed abit lost in that game and got out muscled a couple of times and Murty was questioning some of the stuff he was doing. Guess it was just to get minutes in the tank and probably start again next week

Maybe he has a strop on playing in the stiffs.

"If this is true I will go crackers.
Tommy's deal has been done and he will miss the last 4 games and any playoffs.
Brighton have put this in the deal.
And we have agreed to it, now not a fact but came from an agent based in Wembley.
So don't shoot me till I get it confirmed."
I heard that same as our leader.

If getting £12m for Watson enables us to sign Lee Fee regardless of the division (realise wages could be a massive issue if still in the Championship) I’m all for it.
Getting £12m for a player who is probably on around 5k per week will not enable us to sign a player for £20m who is on around 70k per week.

Over the course of a 4 year contract, that's £13m compared to £34.5m

That's without even considering whether Le Fee would want to sign a permanent deal in the championship.

Same 💩 came out about Clarke when he got injured last year (deal agreed somewhere else won't see him in a Sunderland shirt again) but we did.

The other young lad Brighton took from us - Josh Robertson. He's 19 now and has made 8 PL2 appearances. That's the same league that we're in and the same one Watson will be playing in regularly next year if he goes there.
Given our record at bringing on young players and the fact we have got two first teamers younger than him and another 3 the same age, it surely would have been better for him to continue his development here.
He’s been injured. When he’s come back from injury he’s been playing. Before he left here he had made one sub appearance for our u21s despite being far and away the standout player in our u18s last season. He still hasn’t signed a pro deal here and it was strongly hinted at by a poster on here that they hadn’t even offered him one before he left.
all down too money
Not sure about that like
T

two of his mates are already there
Robertson and who?

There's alot more who are playing like they've got deals sorted for the summer at the minute. Won't even put a foot in when a 50/50 comes up
Was a suspicion and again its the club to blame and not the manager.... Its probable some might fancy a last hurrah and we surprise oppositions again.

He is not going to be risking anything in the next few weeks with a multimillion pound contract on the table if true.

I know they are premier league and likely offering a very good contract but when a Sunderland lad wants to leave his boyhood club to better his career at Brighton it demonstrates the perceived lack of ambition at this club sadly.
'If true' being the important phrase. I'm, generally, a fatalist so if it happens I hope the deal works in our favour rather than theirs

If true its precisely why i have come to despise the club ownership and if john hall was running the mags now, we would probably agree to a groundshare in Tyneside, if the money is right. The club like the country really isnt ours anymore.

Bag 12m plus a sell on fee, and get him back on loan next season. We're going to need some decent amount of coin for the rebuild next season if we don't go up.

Theres Neil and Cirkin nearly out of contract, Jobe will be off, and there's likely to be decent offers for both Rigg and Hume, along with the loan players going back.

He need to learn to pass if he cant find a spot to shoot. Not effective as he was last season. u21 Opponents find way to stop him.

 Will miss games, but plays in the U21s last night after coming on at the weekend.

What a complete and utter load of bollocks.
