Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Where does everyone all stand now on Watson since his move broke down. Does the player still play his part here, has his head gone, do the fans want him in the team, has the opportunity to make money on him gone etc etc. So many questions now over the lad. There has been a lot of speculation regards the lad wanting away but are they just rumours or have foundation. Does he get offered a new contract here. We can only but wait and see how things develope.

How about we leave it to our very competent leadership and management team to deal with

Just a thought

The club may have already set a precedent though, by upgrading Rigg, Jobe and Ballard's contracts, albeit they had more games time in the first team.

Watson has been unlucky to be behind Clarke and then Mundle, as he'd probably have broke through a year earlier at another club, less blessed on the left wing.

Has Rigg had an upgrade? He's signed one professional contract hasn't he in July just gone? He was certainly in a better position to negotiate than Watson when he signed his contract.

Watson's just going to have to get his head down and play football, and if he becomes a first team regular then he'll get the money he wants (within reason at a second division club). In the meantime, the club is probably not meeting what his advisers think he should be paid, he's only had 6 starts remember, and they don't have to at this stage given Watson is under contract.

It's nice to know the board won't simply sell at the first opportunity or roll over just because a club has put x amount of money down. The deal didn't benefit us because we had no time to source replacement so we pulled the plug. I hope now we can get Watson signed up.
From Brightons point of view, just don't understand why clubs wait until so late in the window to make their move. They probably would have ended up getting Watson if they didn't lowball us with fee's and left it to the last minute.

I’m just on a forum you know wanting peoples opinions as there are a lot of question marks.

Don't think there are any question marks. Watson has his whole football future ahead of him and a chance of playing his way into being in the first 11 when he comes back.

Most of us would assume Mundle will be first choice but it's not guaranteed. Was watching YouTube clips of him the other day, get to see more of him that way than being at the match, and while his end product needs some work he's an awkward type of player where you're not sure which way he's going, has the rare ability to get past defenders without looking like he's doing much. Personally, I'd play Mundle but Watson does have a realistic chance of playing his way into the side.

Has @BDS1991 not been back after he was telling everyone he was ITK about all the dealings including making up shite about Watson demanding to be played before Mundle?
Very telling that he's deleted his tweet.

Seriously don't understand what whoppers like this get out of posting that sort of crap. Obviously just a wannabe Keef Downie.

It's becoming more prevelant. We've got people on here stating that Watson's injury has flared up and set him back a month, Danns has either a compound leg fracture or a broken back and loads of posters disrespecting Watson, his family and his home town with all that crap about PIP and income.

Dan might be regretting that in a couple of years time when other lads his age are on 10x his wage. Rigg could be gone next window. Jobe is taking advice from his family. At some point they will tell him to move. I think most of us look at it purely from a fan perspective. At the end of the day there's only DN and Watson who are fans of the club. The rest have an affinity.
I think most folk realise that money generally doesn't make people happy.

Brighton are in a position that we are aiming for.

At the moment we are bringing in young talent for £3-4m with the hope of selling them on for maybe £15-25m

Brighton are looking to sign for around £10-15m and looking to sell for somewhere around £40-50m

Heard a few worrying things last night.
Heard he wanted the move had agreed terms etc then we pulled the deal because we weren't happy with the fee.
His agent is now subsequently pissed off and told him to pretty much down tools until the summer to try and force a move then.
Not trying to spread shit about but this has come from someone at the club. Anybody else verify it or hopefully say it's complete rubbish (which I hope it is !)
Don't shoot me please I am just passing on what I've been told, like I say I hope it's all a load of crap so happy to be told what I've heard is all bollocks.

That'll reflect well on him and get him a good move 👏

If this is the case, he's being badly advised. He needs to knuckle down and get on with it. Downing tools wont help him securing a big move in the summer. Totally unprofessional and childish.
