Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Seems so. Lost the dressing room according to North Stand Chat and was a poll wanting him out. My mate who is a ST holder and usually very sensible is also starting to question him as seems a lot of unrest in the playing squad.
Madness

Mind they were awful at the weekend made Forest look like Peps great Barca side

Surprised to hear that because quite a few of your posts involve the idea that they're 'not giving it a go'. Seems inconsistent with 'doing a tremendous job'.

Either way, I trust that they know what they need, know what they're doing, and if they can't get what they need it's not for the want of trying.
Both can be true. They have a set way of doing things and generally it has worked. Most fans would say then could maybe have had a bit more of a go in the market 2 years ago when we finished it the playoffs and similar now.

But they believe in what they're doing and they've done a good job.

Aye but the poster was talking about a left winger to come in and be a starter. It's not that easy is my point.
If we are mainly buying young players, improvers on the fringes of squads most of them will have only played youth football.

The likes of Ballard, Cirkin, Ekwah, Alese etc. were fit but probably not match fit for professional football when they arrived.

Basically we signed 3 players this season who were either injured or picked up injuries early on. The wasn't common place prior to that.

Pritchard
Cirkin
Batth
Roberts
Ballard
Clarke
Alese
Jobe
Moore
Browne
Poveda
Isidor
Poveda

The bloke who turned up unfit, hadn't trained for months and still hasn't started a game and it's February.

Aye he's certainly ready to hit the ground running.

Some of the others are valid but I'm talking about a starting 11 cert and improvement from the start. Clarke was benched alot and didn't even start the playoff final. It was 2nd season before he flourished.

I agree. That's football at times and managers don't even throw new players in anyway usually these days. Got to learn the system etc.
No I meant we’re now at a point of bring more players in who are ready. Like Mepham, Isidor, Browne etc. as in we had to have a strategy of taking more of a punt previously.
Mepham and well that's about it.
Although you could argue Le Fee and Browne.
Isidor. Ballard as well.

How many times under this ownership have we signed played ready to hit the ground running?

Not very common at all
Plenty. just last seasons recruitment which backs up your argument. Need to move on. I was critical but the way theyve gone about it this season shows they mean business

Think it just means that the club want more for him. All indications in the press/club statements are that Watson has a price.
Well, I suppose that EVERY player has a price.
I would hope that Speakman has a ‘file’ with what the club thinks each of our players are ‘worth’.
Forward planning.

I was talking about this season but aye Isidor as well.

Course they do, if get offered daft money. The club is in a good position in that don't need to sell and whatever the faults of a sustainable approach to football, one of the positives is that you're not desperate for incoming money.
We've made a statement?

In the sense of discussions with journalists and then printed in the press. The press have printed that the club are very much open to a deal for the right money. I suppose there's always a chance that the press are talking out of their arse.

I personally think the only way i'd be willing to come to an agreement with Brighton here is if Clarke was to come back on loan. Ready made replacement and improves us.

I'd still be holding out for something like £15m + a sell on though. Watson will be a top player imo
