Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

it’s starting to look like very good money for a 18 year old who has had 3-4 good games. The thing that worries me is he would need replaced. If Mundle comes back and pulls up I think we can wave bye bye to promotion. It’s been a miracle we are still up there as don’t think we have scored a goal from a winger since Watson got injured. He would need replaced and the club like to bank the money and sign loans and players for cheap and hope they turn good in 6-12 months. We need players who can come in and hit the ground running now!

Apparently club are definately going to accept bid for him tomorrow now according to on here. To me 10 million isn't a lot in grand scheme of things. People wanting to get rid of our exciting young players as soon as a bid come in for them🤦‍♂️
By tomorrow it won't matter if it's £8.50.amd a bag of Haribos, the fact will be he damaged to leave

I think you mistake "wanting to get rid of our exciting young players" with the realities of the business of club football. Of course, we would all love to have Stewart, Clarke, Rigg, Neil, Watson, Mundle, Jobe, and everyone indefinitely. Players have individual desires, the club has its needs, and then their are third-parties that complicate it further(agents, other clubs, etc.). It's the unfortunate reality of the food chain - or the economics of football - apex predators take what they want, and each rung further down get left with scraps from the previous.

He's 18. His career and really started yet, but people want to take the money and run! I personally don't think that's the model. Think they would actually like the players we are developing to play more than a few games for us.

I agree thought if bid is close to 20 million they may accept but anything less I don't see the point.
