There’s a good reason many clubs didn’t go in for Clarke

What was he like when was 18yr old ? Brighton are looking at signing potential compared to a 24yr old player not good enough for the PL
 
Sell Tommy get Clarke back
Sell Patto Blood Young in
Sell Jobe, use the money to get Cirkin and neil tied down to better contracts and get in 2 quality loans for the season and try for mepham
La Fee is the irreplaceable one unless we could strike the same deal as now for next season, sell Ekwah to fund his wages for a year?
Huggins, alese, seelt, abdulla...., Ogusanyi all back and pushing for the 1st team squad alongside Jones and Triantis

Future is not as bleak as some make it out to be, nobody right now is irreplaceable, many will go on to bigger things like Hendo but we do have some very promising youngsters ready to come in
 
He has immense potential, but bottom line is, if his head has been turned and wants to be away cash in on him and let him go. There is nothing worse than have someone who doesn’t want to be here if that is the case
 
On the flip side of not going up, and a good amount of our current squad leaving. The player sales of Jobe, Neil, Cirkin, and Watson alone should give us a big transfer kitty for next season (not that I'm wanting them to leave btw).

The huge question would be, that with the squad being depleted of some of its better players, would the club put the big money that is recouped from the players into the playing squad to challenge for promotion or would it be used sustainably to again build slowly?

I'm personally inclined to belive it would be the latter, given that there was room to make a serious push in January to bring in (either permanently or on loan) players to help with the push for automatic promotion, but what we got wasn't nearly enough.

Let's just hope we have some luck in the playoffs and mange to go up. The summer will be filled with serious doubt and many questions otherwise.
 
If he won't sign a new deal or wants out, good luck to him. Shame though.

Summer exodus might be brutal this year assuming we don't go up.. Reckon we could have £60mil+ to use hopefully, which effectively is parachute payment levels of cheating

Assuming we dont go up, I can only see Watson & Bellingham & probably Poveda of our current squad leaving tbh. Aouchiche, Ekwah, Ba, Matete, Bishop will almost certainly be gone also

Think Rigg will stay another season & I reckon Neil & Cirkin will sign new deals, leaving us a squad of:

GKs:
Patterson Moore Young

Defenders:
Hume, O'9, Ballard, Seelt, Alese, Cirkin, Huggins

Midfielders:
Neil, Rigg, Browne, Triantis, Aleksic, Jones

Forwards:
Roberts Mayenda Isidor Abdullahi Ogunsuyi Mundle

Probably bring in around 40-50m of transfer money

Not sure how long Huggins is out for but we may never se him again tbh

We're garna need a left back, a centre half, a right back, an attacking midfielder, a left winger & a right winger imo

Provably be 3 or 4 loans, & 2 or 3 cheap buys to add to that squad
 
Do people genuinely believe the club has done a deal whereby they aren't allowed to play their own player, for the remainder of the season, despite him not being allowed to play for anyone else? :lol: I mean what would be the point in doing that? Even the player himself would surely say well no I want to play football?

Our current midfield and defence need strengthening. We are far too vulnerable against physical teams. A Dan Burn type enforcer would be a good start

While Huggins alese cirkin are on the payroll we won't get another lb even if you discount hjelde as well

They haven't learnt so far but they need to you are always going to end up with a hjelde level of back up if you have them both at the club

No, no one genuinely believes that. Unfortunately what is entirely believable is that he's off to Brighton though so I'm inclined to believe that rumour as a whole

Yep agree with that- will be maximum of £35-40M like- in realistic addons I'd say.
