Exactly. Boro have a clear aim to get promoted asap. That’s reflected in their transfer business and the investment in to the squad - an attractive proposition for any capable player with a similar ambition.

He's got it wrong some times but he's always backed them. Once the Premier League sackings start in October/November it'll be interesting to see if they can keep ahold of Carrick.

Immensely arrogant, He's been training with the U21s, not just because he wouldn't sign a new contract, but they way he went about it. Pissed off the powers that be at City enormously. I don't think that type of personality would fit with us.

Championed him on other posts. Would have been perfect in our system. Strong, relatively quick, young, plenty of room to improve, but experienced enough he wouldn't need time to adjust. At 4.5 million it's should of been a no brainer really.
Think his goals record is 0.4 per 90 - extrapolate that over a season, it wouldn't be far off 20 goals a season, assuming he played the majority of minutes.
