Been over here all summer with New Zealand test squad and is now turning out for Scotland in the yb40 and for South Shields in Premier league.
Northern Echo said he has also been playing a few games for Durham seconds but will not be considering him as an overseas player for twenty/20 due to the finance problems at club.
Be interesting to see if Durham consider him as their overseas player for next season if they are able to sign one. Would probably be a cheaper option than most counties overseas player, has strong links with the club and the area, (probably the best player Gateshead Fell have seen since Damien Martyn)

If he's turning out for Scotland, does that not mean he'd have an EU (and UK) passport, therefore not an overseas player?

No he is playing as their overseas player, but has apparently decided to base himself down here and play his club cricket here. Just thought with him also turning out for the seconds that Durham may want to have a look at him. There is probably nothing in it, but if there is the cull of the Durham squad that has been suggested at the end of the season then they are going to have to sign someone, and a very talented 21 year old kiwi may fit the bill.

Top player but Latham as an 18 year scored more runs in a season than anyone has done since the premier league was created, quite an achievment when you consider some of the players who have played in the league.
