Tom Cannon bid in - now signed for Sheff U.

8k ok. That was his wages when he signed on the youth team. Good grief 8k A week nowadays. He is on about 40k a week. And that is cheap.

People think premier league footballers earn 8k a week. It isn't 1995 anymore.
He certainly wouldn't have been on 8k at youth level. Pushing it at Preston in first team. Id imagine he'll be on around 20k at Leicester

I find it really difficult to get furious to be honest. On the whole, bar the second half of last season I've enjoyed the football under the current ownership, and therefore have no complaints re: the model/transfer policy. How could I given the reasoning? It's likely the same reasoning KS and the ownership give themselves as an excuse for it taking so long to bring one in too.

It's a massive piss take that we haven't had a competent/recognised striker for this long though, especially when you consider that since Wyke left, the only one we've had is Stewart that hasn't been on loan. Add to that that we knew Wyke was leaving in his final season, it's been around 7 or 8 windows in which we could have brought another in.

Last season was really bad, like you say especially 2nd half of the season.

Had some good times for sure and this season is early days but I’m loving the style of play.

We’ve got to get the striker through the doors, surely!

2-3 quality additions and I think we’ve got a chance at top 6 or even better if we can keep the momentum going. Never a better time to add them especially with the Clarke money there.

What national league player is on more than 8k per week?

There's not - he's made it up, and no doubt someone will believe him and spout it to their group of mates until it's 'common knowledge' between angry fans that we pay less that National League teams.

Wrexham were massive outliers with their wages, and their two highest earners were on £4k p/w - Mullin and Tozer.

Let’s be honest, O’Neil has played CB for three seasons now and some refuse to accept he’s a defender.

Isidore himself said he is a striker who can also play on the left or right. unless we sign someone who has never played any other position some posters will claim they’re not a striker. I think they genuinely just enjoy complaining about it and don’t want to give it up.

You’ve posted about 5 times today about “worries” that we haven’t signed a striker or players joining other clubs over us.

That’s fine cos it’s your concerns, others raise concerns and there just negative and complaining, complete hypocrite.

Not sure how many times I need to raise the point that EVERY fan group, journalist who has seen him play comment that he is ineffective in a lone striker role, gets easily bullied by centre halves, doesn’t hold up play very well.
They say he’s way more effective on the left cutting in.

I hope he turns into the next Terry Henry but EVERYTHING written about him says he’s not best used as a lone striker - i.e the system we play.
If he plays this weekend, where do you think he will play?

You reckon he’s more likely to replace Mayenda or Mundle?

Other than Wilson who has a similar profile to Stewart?

He is a recognised striker 😂

The spin trying to say he isn't is ridiculous

We need another but to say we don't have one is terrible

Clearly dinnit knar me stuff.

Just had a look and the vast majority of his games he's played as a centre forward. Strange he's described as a winger everywhere I've seen?

Ah well, happy days. Like I said, I wasn't overly arsed about it as I've enjoyed the football we've played on the whole - just thought it was a bit of a piss take how long it's taken.
