You're definitely seeing something I'm not. I would say he isn't even worth half of what Sheff Utd paid for him

What I see is a player who's scored 19 goals in four seasons - 9 of which were penalties - and flatters to deceive.

** Ellis Simms got dogs abuse from some on here and has scored 39 goals - NO penalties - in the same period.

19 goals in almost 60 apps at Championship level, about 50% of which were penalties. 10m quid man, honestly 😒

I forgot penalties are guaranteed goals that's why we score them with ease.

I'd love Ellis Simms to be here as well even if some of those boards posters don't agree me.

Penalties are a skill independent of being a good striker. You could have your left back score 10 goals a season from penalties, it wouldn't make him a good CF. Penalties can massage a striker's goal tally, and make him look a better striker than he is.

Just like a strikers goal tally isn't the indicator of their value. Cannon value he is based solely on his goals. I'm basing it on how I saw him how he played against us in a very average Stoke team.
His physicality,running, hold up play etc. Based on that I think he's a decent player. Some may disagree but what I've seen of him I like

Ellis was always on to a loser when we had Stewart here. Even an injured Stewart. Cannon/Ellis can only dream of being as good as a fit LND.

Riis just as good and would've been cheap. If we don't go up I see him coming here.
 
I’d have liked Cannon here, although agreed with the decision to baulk at where the fee was heading. He was never coming here once Sheff U decided to throw crazy money at it.

Surprised he’s done so poorly there though so far mind

at least he can score a pen a suppose would be worth that fee alone just to be our pen taker 🤣🤣🤣🤣
