Todd Murphy - Durham

I can't be the only one who received a discount code for booking early blast tickets, that doesn't normally happen so did wonder if it was something designed to improve cash flow. Either way that's a decent signing

If he isn’t in the test side hopefully we can get him for Blast games as well. Did very well in the Big Bash this year.

It seems to suggest that’ll be the case from the article, he’ll join up with the squad when they initially come over but likely won’t be denied the opportunity to play some cricket for us if he isn’t selected for the Aussies.

Thinking more about this over the course of the day, we all know how desperate we’ve been for a decent spinner for years, hopefully this will fill a real need for the coming season - availability permitting.

Off-spinner Todd Murphy, who took 14 wickets in his debut series in India recently, , although the chances of that move happening have receded.
So eve of the season and no 2nd overseas signing.
According to Mail

The Guardian article in the OP says that he has signed a contract? If the Mail said it was raining outside I’d look out of the window.

"Understood to have signed" which implies that the article was speculative. Whilst Mail articles on football are totally unreliable they're normally on the ball in cricket reporting.

Maybe he isn't coming if the club haven't annouced it yet.

Hes had an injury set back, will still be coming but later on in the season.

We have a replacement who is a fellow aussie called matt iirc something sounding like marcus north was clearing his throat, someone with more knowledge of aussie cricket may fill in thr blanks. But apparently also very promising (they would say that obviously)
