Me and the wife was in Chorley yesterday and went in Wetherspoons for a drink. 200+ mackems in there and I had my Latics coat on but not a scrap of mither from anyone. Very loud and boisterous and also a credit to your club.
Spot on that's what Sunderland are about ,, loads off Supporters buses stopped there

It’s not just your club mate , it’s like that at our away games to
Seems to be a common problem
These divs throw drinks in the air and sing songs at the concourse at H/T but don’t do anything else when they are in the stands
Makes me sometimes think am I just getting old and boring or whingy but it’s not man. People take there kids to games and have to deal with these idiots your talking about chucking drinks about and stuff off there face it’s just not good.

I've wondered that myself. Didn't go to many games pre lockdown and only got back into going regularly this season so can't comment on the last decade or so. But I'm certain that if behaviour was like it is now between 2000 and 2010 my dad wouldn't have taken me as much as he did. He would have hated it and wouldn't have wanted me in that environment. If he ever went to an away game again now he'd be mortified

Funnily enough I was also in Chorley with the Mrs shopping ( she would not let me go to Cheltenham ,I am getting soft in my old age ).We called into Spoons as you say full of Sunderland fans. The only issue was a group of local girls on a hen party who were a bit worse for wear . The Sunderland fans were brilliant , noisy ( as you would expect ) but respectful and friendly. Got talking to a couple at the bar wished them good luck and whispered that I was Wigan fan. They were great and a good laugh , credit to you club.
