To all those annoyed at Wycombe...

Peterborough are evidently saying the vote went 16-4-1 (with Southend supposedly abstaining).

It is therefore very likely that the 4 who voted to play on were Sunderland, Peterborough, Ipswich and Tranmere, while Oxford, Portsmouth and Fleetwood voted to end the season.

So, after all the invective against Wycombe, can it at least be shared among the other three clubs, who pretended to want to carry on, but voted in their own self-interest at the last minute? At least Wycombe did not make a self-righteous song and dance about it.

Ultimately, every team in the division voted in their self-interest. No moral high ground to be had, as anyone who was in the playoffs would have voted the season over.

Of course they all voted in self interest. It would have been interesting if the vote to end the season had been taken without a pre-determined method of calculating the final table and how many would go up/down - for example, weighted PPG would have seen Wycombe in 7th behind Pompey on GD.

thats a shock. just goes to show no morality spouting one thing and doing another (not sure about oxford mind)

We can’t complain and had struggled all season to get into the top 6.We where /are absolutely awful And it’ll get worse if we don’t see mega investment or a change of hands.

We have struggled constantly since we dropped into this league.

we personally cant complain and I dont think we should have gone up. The question I ask, is it the right decision (s). I say no. Its not right Tranmere relegated and not right wycombe elevated in. Not to mention rotherhams freefall
We would have voted to continue if we were 2nd 🤥
that does not make it right

Vote should read 18-4-1, sorry. Either way, Wycombe are going to get all the hate when the other three were the hypocrites...

Pompey voted to continue the season

Struggled to meet expectations, but we were in the playoff final last season, so didn't struggle badly. This season was a tough one to watch mind, although we still had a chance to go up had the season played out.

From December you’ve lost to every half decent side you’ve came up against.

Oxford 1-0
Pompey 2-0
Coventry 4-1
Sunderland 4-0
Peterborough 4-0
Fleetwood 1-0
Doncaster 3-1

One of your games in hand was away to Coventry and you’d have lost that so because your away form is poor so unweighted PPG is ridiculous. Like fuck do youse deserve anything from the season and Ainsworth will be sending the lads out to get Covid to end the season with 3rd spot going up. The club have complained about how much money they’re losing and basically sound like they’re against the play offs (because it suits). Spent half the season kicking teams all over and wasting time, had been found out and undeserving of play offs. Gonna get done all over by Fleetwood.

We do not deserve the play offs but Peterborough missing out for Wycombe is a joke.

No mate I think we looked disjointed aand huffed and puffed from November onwards last season.
This season was just a continuation of where we left off from last.

Had we won enough games to be top 2 no one would be grumbling. As it happens we didn't. When we beat you at the sol we looked light years better Wycombe, but obviously one game doesn't make a season

Where is the morality of teams gaining an unfair advantage of curtailing the season early?

Coventry and Rotherham voted to curtail, they get automatic promotion.

Wycombe vote to curtail the season as they say they haven't got the money to continue, they jump several places into the playoffs at the expense of Peterborough who drop out despite wanting to carry on playing. We were 3 points from 2nd place with 8 games to play was it? That's 24 points to play for.

At the bottom, you've got Tranmere 3 points from safety with a game in hand who voted to carry on we suppose yet AFC Wimbledon vote to curtail and avoid relegation because of it.

There is absolutely no morality in the decision and is probably the least fair out of all the options.
