You better get on the bat phone to Gloustershire because i think they and Glamorgan are under the impression they are both at Cardiff next week fighting it out for 6th and 7th placeSo just the relegation and promotion to sort now me lads…
Could we see a 2024 Division One Anschluss at Trent Bridge?
Nottinghamshire (needing 10 points) host Warwickshire (needing 5 points) where a draw would see both teams safe - assuming Nottinghamshire pick up two bonus points across the first innings’ of the game.
Lancashire travel to Worcestershire who have (likely) seen their excellent run of form ended at Hampfrica. The Pears are safe and may well be ‘on the beach’, or they could end up producing a fantastic performance to send their members into the winter happy now the pressure is off. Either way, Lancashire will likely need maximum points (or thereabouts) just to give themselves a sniff.
Lancashire ultimately look all but down. It’s too early to predict the weather, but I really can’t see any of the two sides at Trent Bridge doing anything at all to allow themselves to be drawn into bother.
Into Division Two, Sussex need 5 points (home to Middlesex) to be crowned champions and Yorkshire, who host Gloucestershire will need 10 points to be assured of promotion.

It’s tough to see a situation where Yorkshire don’t get promoted really, Gloucestershire aren’t a bad side and they’ve got a really good bowling attack, so it could be naughty if the conditions suit and the toss goes the wrong way, but the Yorkies seem destined to be coming up to the top table again.
