If I had posted that we would finish 7th next season the day after last seasons play off final...you would definately have posted the same. Miracles can happen.....they have happened to us before ( under Gus and in '73 ) and arguably this season too ( Noone predicted us to finish 7th )
The difference is we are in a perfect position to strengthen again
I will admit its unlikely we will win the league but why cant we not challenge

That won’t be kicking in for me unless we have a horrendous start to the season.

You don’t get many moments like this in football so we should just take it all in and not stress about what could happen a year from now.

Everyone outside the top six has had a fright this year with two promoted teams staying up. It'll be harder next year.
 
In fairness to the OP he said "contender", not "winner".

All of the Top 5 were potential contenders - even we were in the CL places on and off early doors and top of the league for a few hours at one point!

The thing is, just like last season when I feared we would be decimated after promotion, we just don't know what rabbits KLD/Ghisolfi will pull out of the hat over the summer. They are serious players in the recruitment game.

So, yes, it's possible we might be Top 5 (just 2 places up the table). Or even closer with the right signings.

I agree tbh. I think it’ll be between Chelsea & United for the title next season.

Spurs have finished 17th two years in a row man......no way will they be top 6 as they have no scope to invest massively which is what they will have to do

Totally agree mate....as i said in another post had we pinched the winners at Villa, Wolves and H to Man U we would have finshed top 6 . We were very close in what was admittedly a very close league
