I can't wrap my head around the fact we were shite at that level for a few years.league one footy is terrible mind. Desperate for a basic pass to be made to the lad. Looks decent though

“equally well” doesn’t really say a lotYou'll never convince me a pro footballer shouldn't be two footed.
I was sunday league but i used to go to the local sports hall regularly when i was really into playing banging the ball left foot right foot against the wall for half an hour each time i went there.
I was right footed, but eventually i was able to strike the ball left footed equally as well.
If a working class lad with not much football ability can do that, why can't professional footballers.

Sounds like he was shite with both.“equally well” doesn’t really say a lot![]()
Professional footballers should be able to kick the ball to a good standard with both feet & if their game suffers because they can’t it’s something they need to work on.Thats the part people that say this don't get
Well said mate. Its a basic skill all footballers should have. You'll never convince me a pro footballer shouldn't be two footed.

A professional footballer will be better with their weak foot than you are with your best foot. You'll never convince me a pro footballer shouldn't be two footed.

Tbf we used to say this about Clarke and he got much better at it.Professional footballers should be able to kick the ball to a good standard with both feet & if their game suffers because they can’t it’s something they need to work on.
I’m not taking beckham winning matches with left foot free kicks, more Talbi being unable to play Le Fee through with a simple pass against Fulham & turning onto his right & losing it instead.
He will be a constant source of frustration in the short term if it’s not something he improves. It need to be good enough, not as strong as his right.
Because its at a completely different pace and crazy high level where the smallest margins count, where players have to play to the top of their ability. Not all can develop the same skills- if you could then most players would end up at the same ability levels.
When you really think about it suggesting all top level/pro players should be able to play with both feet is nonsense. they probably can if you slow it right the way down or step down in quality levels.
Its like saying - why can't he beat the first man with his cross, why can't he convert that chance etc? Why did he miss that tackle - they train at it each day!
it doesn't take into account the level, quality and speed, pressure, that there are opposition players training their entire careers too to deny the time and space and defend against it.
Comparing it to yourself is just daft. I used to train my left foot, thought I was decent with it. But put me up against someone at the same level as me or better and I'm going to naturally stick with my strongest foot as the left just wasn't good enough and I could probably do nothing more than use it to bounce a ball off in a dribble occasionally.
There's always mad assumptions that because a player isn't good at something they don't work at those things. Yet we live in an age where the players are measured and coached to within an inch of their lives.
Technically, we weren't. We were a scalp. A cup final. I lost count of the amount of times a club got a result against us and then lost their very next game.I can't wrap my head around the fact we were shite at that level for a few years.
Aye, Clarke improved massively when he started mixing it up.Tbf we used to say this about Clarke and he got much better at it.
Talbi looks like he was brought in as a squad player to develop into a first teamer but his completion has been so bad hes the better player from his position before he's been fully developed.
Need to have some patience with them.
You can tell as a fan pretty quickly if you have a talent -sounds like they have identified timur as such -early days but hope he’s starting for them soon ànd developing well .Seems a good character too from the video with the lady who looked after him up here -was a big move at a young age .They're already thinking of ways to try and help fund a permanent move for the lad.
I can see him developing further and playing at a much higher level. It would be superb if he made it in the PL with us.
I know every team claims it when down there, but we were genuinely a cup final for everyone we played. Most of them will never play at a stadium like our againI can't wrap my head around the fact we were shite at that level for a few years.

As always you make good points.Because its at a completely different pace and crazy high level where the smallest margins count, where players have to play to the top of their ability. Not all can develop the same skills- if you could then most players would end up at the same ability levels.

EVERY.SINGLE.TIMETechnically, we weren't. We were a scalp. A cup final. I lost count of the amount of times a club got a result against us and then lost their very next game.
I don't know how long his contract is, but I'm sure the club see him as a developing player who will earn them some dosh and hopefully make it through to the first team, maybe after a Championship loan next season. He will be a valuable asset in any case. How longs his contract?
Shows how far we have come as a club if we are planning like thatI don't know how long his contract is, but I'm sure the club see him as a developing player who will earn them some dosh and hopefully make it through to the first team, maybe after a Championship loan next season. Reading the talk about Mayenda being classed as 'home grown' on another thread, it seems if a player is signed for three full seasons before he is 21, he counts as a 'homer'. This obviously adds to their value the Prem.
Timur is 21 in June, and he will have done three seasons.
It's almost as if somebody at the club works all this stuff out!
