Tickets (Playoffs H & A)

Think it should be this seasons st holders phase 1 for the pick of the seats then next seasons phase 2
If it gets phase 3 members
Agree with that, however a maximum of 10 days to sell tickets means they’ll have as few phases as possible. Last season they didn’t send (email) tickets out until it was sold out.

No. Didn’t dispute that. Purchasing a season ticket gives you extra privileges and that’s fair enough. I was only taking issue with the insinuation that Sunderland has supporters who only show up once a season. It’s simply not true. We average just 40k this season and have 32k ish season ticket holders. That’s means there there 5-6k people buying tickets on a match by match basis. The overwhelming majority of attendees on Saturday will have been to games this season already as opposed to just turning up for this one.
Idk like. I knew a few people who only rocked up for the play offs last year. Not that I’m bothered, people’s lives change, they move away, finances whatever. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest. But some were saying 45,300 is bull because people miss out. Well yeah, but that’s how it is if you don’t go regularly.

I think the argument is that 45300 is bull because everyone knows the stadium is capable of holding more. That’s nothing to do with how regularly people attend.

The limits on support and selling more tickets are as a result of safety mitigations. Had proper work been done on safety by club and authorities rather that patchy workarounds there’d likely be more bums on seats.

Anyway, superb support from the clubs fanbase as ever and hopefully everyone goes home very happy.

i'd love to know how many different people have been to at least one of our home games this season. bet its 100,000

if our average is 39,000 i'd say there are 60,000 who have been to at least a couple of games

Gutted people were right that we’d lose a load of our fans to saudi dc 😞

That’ll be in years to come. Can’t imagine many will switch allegiances when they already have them

I’d be very surprised if it’s fewer than 70k individuals across the season.

where are the 3000 empty seats though?

we gave Luton 2000 from the off, they've sold out and presumably we have sold right up to their section.

a few rows at the front of the away end, but surely not 3000? thats the equivalent of half of the south stand

Just in case anyone is wondering, we had about 32,000 season card holders, including corporate, at the start of the season. Not sure how many we've added from part season card sales, but seems certain that if we can beat Luton, all season card holders would be there and presumably there'd be enough for new 23/24 season card holders (as a good few of those would probably have had part season cards this season). Still, small matter of 3rd in the league to tank first

I’m assuming a big chunk of segregation between NW upper and their lot as there was against Watford. With that and the chunk at the front and back rows it’ll not be far off

probably a couple of blocks in NW corner will be empty

Unfortunately it's longer term that may start to occur. Much like the 90s, if they continue to challenge for champions league. It'll be the younger generations coming through as glory supporters. Hopefully times have changed though and we can build to compete towards the top end regularly

Any additional bums on seats would be away supporters. The main element is the front half of North upper. There'd still need to be segregation from NW upper.
