Thoughts on last night

Forest were fighting for their lives and were excellent. Their front three were termendous - Hutchinson and Gibbs-White were tremendous and Woods was like Brobbey with an added goal threat. Anderson is as good a midfielder as you'll see in the Premier League. Our front three - Le Fee looks like he's sulking because he doesn't want to be playing out wide, Rigg looks too light weight and Brobbey is just constantly isolated. I'm not sure what Diarra is supposed to be doing but whatever it is, he isn't. He simply doesn't do enough to warrant selection. We need Le Fee in the number 10 and two speedy wingers ouitside. Otherwise we will never get the best out of Brobbey.

However, the biggest thing was that their manager out thought Le Bris. Its something Le Bris has done before but last night we had no answer. Their press was tremendous and they knew exactly what we were going to do with each play, especially the pass out to the FB. Other teams will look at that and have a go at nullfiying is in the same way. It really was a wake up and we need to show an intelligence to change and vary our play. The other obeservation was that a few times we were breaking fast when Roefs had the ball in his hands and he chose not to launch it. We need to vary the play sometimes. Hopefully, Le Bris and his team are reviewing how easy it was for Forest to disrupt our game plan.

Oh, and I'm still pissed off with all the leavers, it was embarrassing. Some even went at 3-0.

Well said sir.
Totally agree. 👍

Out fought
Out thought

Forest wanted it more
Exactly this.

It was always gonna be a tough game, I was listening to one of the podcasts on Friday and they were predicting comfortable wins like 3-0. Forest been in good form and have some quality players. Think a lot of people underestimated them.

Although we were shite and it was embarrassing I felt a lot worse after the Villa game.

Most mental this with that result is we were well on top for the first 15 minutes and looked the only team scoring. That stupid pass out from the back that they got their second with completely killed us and the game. If we could’ve kept it to 1-0 and see it through to half time I would’ve felt based off the rest of this season we have a good chance of getting back into it. A truly awful, self-harming tactic that I will never ever understand or think is any good.

Result was horrendous but looks worse than it was due to 10 mins of madness.

After they scored and had their tails up we couldn’t cope. What was frustrating was that we kept doing the things that put us under pressure. I literally turned to my mate as roefs picked the ball up and said, we need to stop trying to play out for a spell as he kicked it straight at a forest player.

They outfought us, out worked us and we just fell to bits. Hutchison was electric. Alderete and Ballard couldnt cope with the front two. Diarra lost everything that came into him and even Brobbey was outmuscled. It’s one of the few times I’d agree with the cliche “they wanted it more”.

In that spell, there was acres in the 10 position. Diarra was in so much space if they could find him. They did it a couple of times and he just gave it away.

All round a bad day at the office but Villa frustrated me more

Twas a game we were never going to win,we just don't beat teams in form.4 wins since just before Xmas, surprise surprise all 4 were in poor form.

They’re a good side. No idea how they’re so low down the table. I’d take most of their players tbh

Their manager played a blinder by going 3 at the back and pushing their wing-backs up and flooding our midfield and pressed us high. We couldn't cope and didn't adapt and change our system and got smashed...piss poor...

Unfortunately it’s happened a fair few times this season.

I struggle to understand what our game plan is sometimes.

Brobbey looks massively isolated. Assumption is Diarra should be there to support and for Rigg and Le Fee to also be in areas to create. It’s really unfair expecting Rigg to be consistent at this level and Le Fee is far better in the centre.

I’d be keen to see a midfield of:

Xhaka Sadiki

Traore Le Fee Talbi

Its no longer the mentality of not getting beat, which is fair enough after the season they have had. They've earned the right to have a go but it looks like some think they're better than they actually are.

I’m the opposite. Going to a team in the top 5 and losing is easier to take that getting torn apart on your own patch for me.
