This knee bending shite

This is the point, it is people going through the motions, the impact of doing it is lessening, there is a big racism problem that needs addressing, I feel that the knee taking is those doing it making themselves feel better for doing it

If your opposition to it is out of concern that it is becoming an empty gesture, then fine. But it seems like people are more opposed because it offends them in some way...

It's clearly forced upon the players like, with the extra whistle from the ref. But I wouldn't think they'll stop now until they achieve their goal.
It was achieved a long time ago. The culture war has long since been won.

The problem with people who build an entire self-image upon the idea that they’re oppressed is that they don’t have a clue what to do when they’re actually on the front foot.

Kaepernick was definitely more than 2 years into his pro career when he started protesting. If owt he was looking like he was finished as a starting QB by the time he started kneeling.

I realise you're probably on the same side, but Kap wasn't done then. The previous offseason the Broncos had almost traded for him, and he had a pretty good year in the context of playing alongside the worst defense in the league.

Watch this, it's great use of data and of course, shows that Kap was blackballed only because of his kneeling.

Refused to be silenced and it literally cost him his career and tens of millions of dollars. How sincere do you want?

Man there are some proper racist pieces of shit on this thread, and they can't see that the shit they're posting proves why these demonstrations are needed.

Let's say my theory is wrong, my argument flawed. Why does that make me a racist? Am I not allowed to doubt someone because their dad is black? Does that make him infallible like the Pope or something. Have I committed heresy?

I'm all for everyone getting along, but if I've got to walk on eggshells and treat people like sacred cows, you can stick it up your hoop. I'll may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb. Think I might have mixed my livestock metaphors there.

Why does the race of his parents matter at all? Bringing it up out of nowhere does kind of feel weird as fuck. People who are obsessed with the idea of delinquent black fathers do tend to wear white hoods and be anti-Kap.

He got benched for Blaine Gabbert mate, this was 3 years after he looked like the future of the NFL. Greg Roman and Jim Harbaugh left the 49ers and he never looked the same.

I think if he'd still been 2012 Kap then teams would have put up with the extra media attention to have him, but his distraction became too much for how poorly he was playing.

Yes. George Floyd is the only unarmed black man to have suffered such a fate isn’t he? It’s only happened the once.

It has EVERYTHING to do with us in the UK, and everything to do with us as human beings.

Because it help ignite a narrative where black people the world over began telling their stories about institutional racism. And how that doesn’t just manifest itself in policeman – and citizens – killing black people in the US, but in how black people are still treated by large sections of society.

That this message is still not getting through – as exemplified on this thread – is exactly why sports teams are still taking the knee. And why I hope it continues.

How many black people get killed by white police officers each year in the US?

How many black people get killed by other black people each year in the US?

We have history books for that. Taking a statue down, which was erected to bolster the Jim Crow South and honor a pro-slavery racist is the right thing to do.

And what about the rest of my post? Or are you conveniently ignoring it?
Good evening Burchy. Hope you and yours are well marra. On this topic, I think your views are those that need to be really listened to as you are from the States. I would hazard a guess that we, here, don't fully appreciate what the climate is like. All the best mate.
