Thinking of getting a bat

Aye, but there was never much chance of me getting runs to begin with, or hanging around long enough to break it.

This is the best info i've seen on knocking in.

Also get some ear plugs ;)

Anywhere that can fix cricket bats, isnt there one in Boldon?

depends on the damage mate - post a pic of your bat and we'll see. The place in boldon is called crown sports.

I will post a pic tonight if I remember and you can assess the damage

Where is crown sports? near asda?

It's on the little industrial estate round the corner from The Sleepers pub.

It's not far from boldon metro station - come out of there go across the tracks and turn left and then its first left again. Not too hard to find

Not for a bat. You need to pick it up and see how it feels. Not just get the one with the best stickers.

Yeah but you can find the one you want elsewhere then find it for the best price online

Aye but just because you pick on up in a shop and it feels orite doesnt maen one online will be the same. It will have different grains, different weight, pick up etc.

love these threads  reminds me of bastard harry potter

the bat picks the batsmen just as much as the batsman picks the bat

Agree with this. You never know how they will feel until you pick it up. If you live in the North East just go to Lorimers or Just Sport. Prices are about the same as searching the net and you get good service and help to get the right bat for you.

urrgh thats 1 hour down of knocking in, not sure if its actually making the slightest bit of difference tho... next hour sumtime 2morow
