I came on as sub against Partizan Belgrade that year and played a number of games for the Youth Team the following season. Was looking promising until Denis Smith got the sack and Crosby took over. Saw Sunderland play Real Madrid, remember Real had a great player up front always wondered whether he went on to big things. Mickey Gray stood out for us.

I thought the Silky tournaments were brilliant. That Real lad you mentioned, was he the lad playing right side up front? He was a cracking player. Always wondered if it was a young Raul as he had that look about him. Obviously it wasn't him like as he wasn't listed on that teamsheet posted earlier.
