The white number panel on our back

Lucky1985

Winger
When it was announced that we were going to have a solid panel on the back of our shirts, I cringed as they normally look awful and ruin the shirt.

But on this seasons shirt though, having the panel only for the number and not for the name, I think it looks absolutely class and makes the shirt. I think the players shirts look better than the supporter ones because of it (assuming there’s a name and number on the shirt of course).

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody else do that on a shirt before though. Can anybody else recall any other clubs doing it?

I’d love it to become our ‘thing’ and we carry it on even when we leave Hummel.

Thoughts?

Wasn’t there something in the last supporters minutes where the club had surveyed a group of fans and the fans wanted a striped supporters version of the shirt, so if it was a requirement for players to have a panel, it will continue on player issue shirts only?

FWIW I was dead against the white box but think it looks class now. Very continental.

Said at the time that it was infinitely better than either a solid colour back or a daft bib arrangement with stripes at the bottom. If this was just a compromise due to a lack of time and we go to one of those two options next season, I absolutely guarantee that it will look MUCH shitter.
