The Trafalgar Square Weekender once a seasoners

No amount of lucozade, paracetamol, or imodium could get rid of my Trafalgar square hangover.

I am sure many people felt the same so there is no wonder that the atmosphere was a flat

Been saying this for last 2 seasons but our chants are absolutely f***ing shite. We need a good proper song book like united.

Anything that sounds decent people can't be arsed to learn the words. Our atmosphere is shite outside of the core 2,000. Only chant people join in with is haway the lads & by far the greatest team.

As if singing better would have made us win  load of puffs on here tonight. Those crying because we left it all at Trafalgar instead of the match (supposedly)(it was loud as fuck first half where I was) are only jealous as they weren’t there... f***ing fannies

When you are under the cosh, like in that second half, clinging to a slim lead then the tension is such people don't sing and stuff. Not much noise in '73 either in the second half, unlike the first when we came out flying. Just too f***ing tense. And this wasn't '73 to be fair. When you are holding your breathe its hard to sing. You just pray..kinda silently.

Staggering how some struggle with this. It’s closer than Leeds is from Sunderland, man.

And?

So if Sunderland were playing in Leeds with 40K in attendance there wouldn't be shit loads in town 3 or 4 hours before kick off?

Pompey had over 20K day trippers who were dropped off and picked up at Wembley. They never saw anything of London or the inside of a pub.

If that's what they want to do fine but it's boring as fuck IMO.

There’s plenty of reports on here about them being about in decent numbers in Central London from mid-morning yesterday.

I’m referring more to those who are baffled as to where they were when you were taking over Trafalgar Square in Saturday night tbf.

There were quite a few around me who were obviously worse for wear and just knackered. There wasn't much singing from them!

Was saying we need a few simpler songs that you can get everything behind.

Pompey were fantastic and there best song was that play up Pompey one. Literally 3 words and they can all just belt it out.

Sing your hearts out for the lads is a good one for that but instead people insist on long winded contrived songs that you can chant/sing but not belt out.

I was on the half way line and thought it was fairly 50/50 most of the game. They have a lot of artificial atmosphere (singing section, plastic flags etc), maybe it’s time we got with it? Thought we struggled to muster anything in the second half, but given the poor attempt at football in that half it isn’t really a surprise.

Pompey were a goal down and made far more noise than us. Got to say that the manager’s preferred style doesn’t help though.

Yep, unfortunately most were much more interested in getting twatted on the Saturday than they were about the match.
