I really fancy Xmas or just after next year in the Canaries. Did it once with the missus (no) before our bundle of joy arrived and it was the best Christmas ever.
Said bundle will be 2.5 then, my mates with bairns are all advising me against it, they all tried and said nightmare with a child that age.
Any views on it here? Ta

Just got back from Australia, forgot what an amazing place it is.
Got a few seperate weeks abroad booked, basically going to work remote monday to Thursday then have a long weekend

Will plan in Edinburgh for a few nights at some point and possibly take the kids camping or talk them out of it and sell all my camping gear

You couldn't be more central.
I would just go for a wander down the side streets and see what appeals and isn't too touristy. Nobody in Madrid goes out for dinner until at least 9pm.
