How big are our submarines

The size of a WW2 aircraft carrier

Subs need to run and hide to be effective , they would be tracked far too easily upon leaving the wear. On the west coast they leave into very deep water and disappear

It's in the middle of nowhere and miles away from anywhere decent?

Take that back - Elgin is a lovely city!

I'm sure the future of the armed forces has been fully discussed during the campaign - however I must've blinked and missed it.

Yet another of the endless list of questions that the nats can't or more likely don't want to answer.

Can you imagine the fuck on?

Ignoring the fact the jocks based in England don't get to vote.

No,Scottish regiments would be part of the new Scottish army though,I think
Not so sure, I would assume in the event of a yes vote we will still be Britain, therefore the British army will still be in tact. For the same reason they are not allowed to vote, they are signed up/contracted to the British army, sworn to protect her majesty and the British government, not some off-shoot rebellious country in the North!

fair point. In fact fuck them, let's just invade them again.

The White paper specifies 3,800 front line troops in an independent Scotland (Aye !). When you think that the guy at the front with the gun is usually supported by 2/3 colleagues backing him up, that's @ 900 soldiers to defend Scotland.....Fookin' lethal !

Who's going to invade them though?

Like everything else in this independence debate, they will be relying on their neighbours across the border to look after their interests
