No apparently the lad, well a bloke in his 60s actually, had been ill recently and doesn't drink.
When I posted last night, saw a bloke in his 60s at the back of Aquatic and North Stand being led away by 3 Police officers at the end of match,he looked in a bad way and disoriented hope it wasn't the same bloke .

I think the coppers have some answering to do if it was him & he hadn't had a drink.

I agree mate never thought anything off it till last night ,walked past him with our lad one copper had a hold of him I said to the youngin wonder what's happened to him .

Apologies but I had to delete the thread.

The original OP wasn't aware of the circumstances when he started the thread and there were just too many inappropriate posts made before everyone realised the seriousness of the situation.

Hope the lad recovers.
thank you Mods.

Any news on why he was dropped off on a busy road?
ive been talking to the lad who runs the bus and and as i said last night directions and roads and stuff isnt my strong point. he wasnt dropped off on the A19 it was at a bus stop before we got that far. when he got off he was heading back towards the stadium so were not sure how he ended up changing direction and ending up on the A19. Paul has also rang the Manchester branch to see how he was and been told hes broke his leg and should be in hospital for a couple of days and they hope to pick him up after the Villa game

Although bad news initially and very concerning due to vague info, it's good (in a way) to hear that and fingers crossed he makes a full recovery and the Lads get him 3 points Saturday with a easy 2-0 win so he can enjoy the journey home!

Does anyone know how the 2 decent lads who stopped with him in Hospital, got home ,I know Tunstall last night offered lifts today ??

That's good news considering the circumstances so thanks for that.

Here's hoping the fella makes a complete recovery.

A big pat on the back for the Manchester branch lads for looking after one of their own.

I might have been a bit optimistic with regards to bringing him back on Saturday, Glen is trying to get some more recent information and will hopefully be able to report later.

There's no bus stops anywhere near there unless you went through the retail park

In fact don't mean to be a twat like but if you came up Keir hardie way and straight up to the a19 don't think you pass a single bus stop.

To be fair, I would expect nothing less from our fans, we are class.

Read the thread last night and searched this morning for it.

Good to hear that it's only (obviously still awful but not as bad as some were fearing from the thread last night I imagine) a broken leg.

i have just spoken to the fella's daughter and she has told me they are keeping him in the RVI and are operating on his leg this morning. he had a bad compound fracture and he could be kept in there a while. When we left last night he was being admitted to a high dependency ward. he has no family in the north east, another daughter is on her way up to be with him now.

the guy is in his late 60's, he hasn't been well recently and he doesn't drink, so that was not the problem. he'd had a fall just before christmas and wasn't his usual self either at man city or the game last night. we told the doctors at the RVI about the fall as they thought that might have something to do with what he did last night. he was given a brain scan but that didn't show anything wrong.

the coppers at the stadium were spot on in helping us locate him, and when they got word on their radios that he was in an accident on the A19, they took me and @rexyboy there. the driver who had hit him had stopped and was at the scene and said he was wandering in the middle of the road.

thanks for all the offers of help we received last night

f***ing hell, I posted on the original thread last night.

Best wishes to the bloke, hopefully will make a swift and full recovery and top marks to the lads off the Manchester branch who stayed up here to help sort things out.
