I fell asleep on Saturday afternoon in the big stand next to the scoreboard. Prices of food and drink were a piss take....£2.50 for a f***ing ice cream ffs!

I left at 6:20 yesterday with the Aussies 4 down with firm plans to return today to watch the final day. I don't know how I will ever get over this ridiculous decision
Were you on acid or something, why would you leave over an hour before the close of play.

I was reckoning on a 7pm finish and wasn't really confident that the light would last that long anyway. When I rang for my lift at 5:30 the Aussies were only one down so there didn't seem much danger

Worked all 4 days and loved every second of it....had some great craic with the fans and some of players (look at me etc).
Prices are nothing to do with DCCC, and they probably didn't break even to stage the event.
Anyone see the honey monster on Monday.......comedy at its best

Hilarious when they were rolling down the steps, then the stewards came over and honey monster dissapeard into the crowd and popped out at the top of the stand

Went Day 1 and had a brilliant day, the cheaper drink for members was a brilliant idea.

The only bad thing was the space behind the CD stand at lunch/tea time, far to cramped.

Aye he was quality and essential viewing at that point as the Aussies looked to waltzing it.

One on the best days entertainment ever for me. Well worth the £80 spent.

Personally I never understood people who want a "football style" atmosphere at the cricket. Yes get a few beers in you and have a bit banter but I really couldn't think of anything more pointless than building a pint glass tower, or singing derogatory songs about the opposition.

Yeah, we had a few squares in our stand too complaining about the 4 vicars. I thought they did a great job in keeping people entertained. I was proud of DCC, CLS and the North-East in general. The atmosphere for the last session was absolutely superb. The Honey Monster kept popping up and was piss funny eating his sugar puffs much to the stewards' distaste. I think the stewards did a grand job in keeping the peace and letting those that wanted to have fun, have their fun. When people complained they were quick to move in and stop the offender or kick them out.

At the end of the day, if jacket wearing spectators want cheese and port with a quiet atmosphere then they shouldn't get the cheaper tickets in the lively stand. It is made clear on point of purchase.

Not sure what you mean by this...the profit from these Test matches funds cricket across the country for the year...at £80 a pop there was huge profits made
was talking to a very senior member(not naming) who told me unless it went to a 5th day the club wouldn't make a profit.[DOUBLEPOST=1376404207][/DOUBLEPOST]

Couldn't agree more

Absolutely faultless.

Brilliant 4 days. Pisses over going to the football and see a load of idiots shout at the players.

From Durham not CLS I assume

aye but they had a shuttle bus from Durham so anyone going from/to Newcastle used the shuttle bus. That's what I did. Never been to CLS but I'm guessing Durham is bigger(?) so it makes sense to make Durham the main station with a very reliable shuttle bus service.

Know what you mean. But newcastle was carnage first thing. Trains locked etc with people squeezed against windows.

Anyone see the honey monster climb up the fence next to the water stand outside block 35? Climbed up and raised both hands as he sat on top of this fence. Within seconds, it collapsed and he ended up on the wrong side of the fence. :D Everyone was in fits of laughter as the realisation set in that he was trapped. Stewards came over, shifted the fence and let him back in![DOUBLEPOST=1376407728][/DOUBLEPOST]

that's not good. Perhaps, in hindsight, Durham should have made it clear to use Durham station for journeys like Newcastle. As I said, we had 4 trains come in within an hour which was great. Platform only began to fill up as the next train rolled in.
