The ref (see PGMOL thread)

I know I said I was out but this is the ref putting his hand up and waving him away (IMO) and in the video it's clear that Neil says more than we've been told (again IMO).

As for consistency, you can't argue it's not a booking but I'd prefer refs book the lot as it needs stopping and get the attitude to change so it's more like the respect shown in rugby. Shite like this is part of the reason why refs at lower levels are at a shortage and they've even trialled them wearing bodycams due to the shite they get.

I also noticed this a few moments before and watch Clarke goes over at 43:18, not a foul for me. Clarke, O'Nien and Neil all claim the free kick but the ref's attention looks towards Neil. O'Nien stops appealing but Neil still has his arms up while the ref is looking at Neil shaking his head before the camera cuts. Obviously you don't know what is said but it got the ref's attention out of the 3 claiming for the free kick.

The video will start to show the class cross field ball and then Ba stopping it (couldn't leave that out) but then you'll see the incident. Bear in mind some probably won't see this on a phone before they jump in all guns blazing 😉

Shite like this is EXACTLY why refs get the shit they do. Made a call based on pettiness that costs a football team a match and leaves 10s of thousands of people royally pissed off. Fine for him though he'll hide away and not give any explanation.

He's the only ref I've ever seen do it, normally they're not total fannies and give it back. Ultimate 'look at me' moment, hes an arsehole and should be struck off.

Where is the source for that (or do you know the club doctor?) and why not tell that to Mowbray as surely the ref knows the 2nd yellow will have caused issues.
We have a mutual friend who I have no reason to not believe has passed that on in good faith.

I think the ref has misheard him to be honest, and just been a bit tetchy/gung ho. As someone has previously said, a very thin skinned Aussie.
Canny hearing that doctor, only about 50 yards away 😂
Obviously what was relayed to their back room staff.
A Boro member of staff defending the ref, no idea why
I’m just relaying what I’ve been told they believe was the reason for the yellow.

David Elleray was mic'd up when he sent off Tony Adams. His words "I don't mind you telling me to fuck off, but you're not calling me a cheat. Off you go". And he was a public school housemaster.

Oh course, seems likely. The ref doesn't bother talking to our manager but has an in depth conversation with a nobody on Boro's staff... 😂

I've never heard anyone from the NE use "fuckhead". "Fuckwit" maybe.

Did you see what I just posted about another interaction just shortly before the yellow card?

Do you think it's possible Neil said more than what he claimed? What do you think of the video posted earlier where the ref seems to wave him away but Neil keeps going then the ref pulls the card out?

Tbf I see it there.

OK, he had a bit of a chat with someone no fucker knows from Adam.
Or the ref/4th official has told Carrick what he believes was said/the reason for 2nd yellow and has passed this onto his back room staff at half time?

I mean it’s hardly a mad theory is it.

You can't tell at all from footage what exactly the ref was saying or doing. Or Neil for that matter. Was he overly aggressive and in his face, nope. Are players regularly booked for doing that, yes. Do players regularly get a 2nd booking for doing what Neil did? Well we've seen 2 examples from this season and last so that will be a no.

Is this the same Carrick who said he was surprised Neil was sent off?
