Yep, always looks to get players off opposite to other refsSeen a clip of him on twitter, wolves player does similar, yet other wolves players are actually closer to him, books the guy already on a yellow and sends him off..
It's easy to get a rush of blood. 10 or even 15 seconds to pull back on the trigger and breathe would make zero difference in modern football where there's so much time wasted anyway.Ref has history for this
Maybe but I don't think anyone apart from Neil and the ref know exactly what was said and when. It's the way the ref suddenly reacts after his waving that makes me wonder if something else was said by Neil and is it going to be put in the ref's report for others to find out?The ref should have taken just a few more seconds to process the situation before he started waving cards about. I think most referees watching a replay of that on a loop would guess they wouldn't have been that rash. I think the ref handled that badly.
I recall the uproar about that last season as I think Diaz for Man City also got a yellow in another game from a different ref. It's the fact both players headed towards the ref over a distance saying something rather than the instant reaction from players around the incident itself. It's part of the reason the new directive was brought in this season to stop it happening and also that it filters down the leagues.Seen a clip of him on twitter, wolves player does similar, yet other wolves players are actually closer to him, books the guy already on a yellow and sends him off..
Intent makes it a red for me. His foot was off the ground and studs were up. His foot went through his legs. Any connection and he was off and a deserved red. Very lucky. It wasn’t a red, it was deservedly a yellow
I saw the refs arm movement waving Crooks away a few minutes earlier when Crooks was telling him to fuck off after giving a foul against him.Conjecture by yourself then if you're saying that nothing there justified more than a word in the ear.
How do you know exactly what was said by Neil as it looks to me that it was more than what Mowbray said it was. Do you know what the ref possibly said to him as why did the ref react shortly after the arm movement? What did the ref mean by this arm movement of pointing at Neil then sweeping it away in a very similar way you'd tell someone to go away, bearing in mind it wasn't a corner and did the ref say owt to Neil prior to the card?
This is why I'm wondering if exactly what happened is hoyed in the ref's report and is it made public (or released to media?) and is the ref's mic recorded in the Championship? I hope that Mowbray is right into them for answers as to why it was a yellow, as well as the overall performance from the ref that led to the frustration of Neil in the 1st place!
.
:edit: Watching this video you can see that Neil says something initially but then he says something again to the ref while the ref is pointing at him and then the ref reacts.

Small minded cheating clunt.
Send him back to Australia- totally spoiled a good game of football.
Hopefully the club don’t lie down over this.
If there was any intent he wouldn't have missed him.Intent makes it a red for me. His foot was off the ground and studs were up. His foot went through his legs. Any connection and he was off and a deserved red. Very lucky.
His foot went two foot though his legs and caught him with his trailing leg foot. A lunge off the he ground and studs up. If it was on one of ours I’d say the same. Very lucky. Watch it.If there was any intent he wouldn't have missed him.
I've had time to reflect. Still a massive wanker.
I've seen it. If he wanted to do him then he easily could've done. He would need that nasty streak to do it though. I don't think he has that in him.His foot went two foot though his legs and caught him with his trailing leg foot. A lunge off the he ground and studs up. If it was on one of ours I’d say the same.
