I'm not suggesting Strauss should be dropped, I think he has plenty of years left

But his poor form got me thinking, who is next in line to open the batting?

Taylor opened for the Lions but bats in the middle order doesn't he? Is there anyone actually coming through?

Alex Hales looks pretty good in all forms of the game, he opens for Notts in the Championship and one-dayers. Think he'll be knocking on the door soon.

Heard a lot about him but not seen him play. Report in the paper couple of weeks ago suggested he was poor against spin?

Yeah, good news on Carberry.

Just looked at Hales record this season and he's only averaging 30, thought he'd had a better start to the season than that (he broke his jaw hooking, was it Saj?),perhaps it was the 40 over games he'd played well in.

Edit - it was Shazad

20/20

he clobbered us everywhere

Another Saffa. As is Meaker :-(

Both went to school in England didn't they? I don't have a problem when they come across as kids and are brought through English schools/academies. It's the lads who learn their trade in SA then come across who I don't think should be in.
