The Mortal Hound…

Back in the 90s Vine Place was a really busy street as the Priestman and Galen Buildings were in full use and full of students. Since then like everything else in Sunderland the University moved out of town to St Peter’s campus and since then it’s pretty quiet and there is very little daytime footfall.

The Priestman building is still very much in use, the entrance is around the other side. The university also didn't move out of town and not sure why you think that as the city campus is really busy. St Peters campus covers different subjects to the city campus.

The entrance is on the other side so pointing towards Chester Road and not the centre? Galen Building was a University site but isn’t any longer, my original point still stands.

Yes, the entrance is on the other side. You didn't actually make a point as it was all incorrect 👍

I give it a year. The beers are shite. If the products no good it's not going to last - just like their last venture. Only hope it has is if it gets some decent guest beers in.

Mate, I don’t know what you are trying to prove but my original point was that the footfall on Vine Place was much higher in the 90s. I went to the University then and was in the Galen Building and Priestman among others, Vine Place was a busy thoroughfare. It isn’t now because the Galen Building is closed and the Priestman Building doesn’t open towards Vine Place any longer. Do I need to spell it out any clearer for you?

Good to see a Bar hopefully serving some decent ale. What was their previous venture?

I wish them well but their beer does score pretty dreadfully in untappd. Might fall in the cracks of too pricey for the normal clientele of that area and not good enough quality for craft fans.

Hope they make a success of it though, good luck to them
