They seem to pull these runs out of nowhere every season, but they rarely sustain them. Admittedly they have beaten a couple of decent teams in this run but yesterday, which is the one that seems to have caused the furore about them, they beat QPR 1-0 at home. That's QPR who are rock bottom of the league.

Aye the team what we couldn't manage a point against or a goal. That same team ?

It's not luck. They have done well. Hoping it won't last though. Saying that, not conceding goals and going on such a great run, boosts confidence.

Yeah but we were away to be fair. I didn't say it was luck I said they'd had a couple of good wins, but that when they go on these runs they rarely sustain them.

Of course mate, no many teams can sustain them. Fair play to them, such a run of clear wins is stupidly hard to do in this league.

Probably not but the wins are vital. Clear wins for such a decent period gets so many points on the board and puts them in the bank. That's why I am so annoyed that we seem to draw so many games; it annoys me that we generally set out for that though. Not aggressive enough. We have failed to beat any of the promoted teams etc. we should be aggressive and get the points on the board early to counteract runs of tough games; the one coming up for example.

Absolutely it is, let's hope it collapses like it did after a similar run last season. Last season when they went on the run the league was completely different the points gap was massive between where they were and the bottom half. So when they collapsed like a pack of cards it was never possible for it to impact massively on their league position.
This season it's completely different there is only 6 points between them in 5th and us. Now I'm not implying we will catch them but, if they collapse again, then there is a much greater chance they will slip down the league. Here's hoping

Is that not the problem with Sunderland fans then? Just sit and support until the proverbial hits the fan? At Newcastle the team are now playing for Pardew's job and their own, because a new manager may not keep them.

The pressure put on by the supporters has galvanised the team into action whereas we've seen Sunderland players who have barely got off the team coach, strolled around the pitch to stretch their legs and then got back on the coach.

Maybe they need to be prodded into action?

Living in Madrid I thought I was safe from this bollocks but last night a Spanish bloke told me he supports the mags "because they are the entertainers". he also was telling his mates how a fan clean knocked out a horse with one punch!
