i dont think it offered anything new just from the script to the landscapes your had to fight your way through is what appealed to everyone. sneaking through the cities to ending up at the dam in the country. the whole game from start to finish was breathtaking.

What does new have to do with it being a great game?

It perfected the way characters interact through gameplay to me, had a great story line, and was one of the few games I've played where I actually gave a fuck about the characters when it came to the narrative.

When you get shot of duplicate platforms it's one of the top 50 games ever on metacritic, it deserves to be there.

Ive been gaming since the Atari days and have owned every console... i thought it was a good game just not as great as its made out to be. Just my opinion.
