The Hundred 2025

Always feel that the slight flaw in this argument is that it appears to assume that it’s only the investors in the franchises that are doing it to make money, and that investors in the county clubs are pure altruists who only have the long term interests of the game at heart. When you look at who the latter group includes, and I’m not suggesting you have to look particularly far either, I don’t find that assumption convincing
Yeh" acting in the long term interests of the club" has been trotted out frequently by some altruists.

Why don't the ECB poll all cricket club/fans etc and see if this farce of a tournament is popular....I reckon it ll be 30% approval......I'm sure they giving free tickets for school kids on holidays to bump up attendance.....ECB doesn't care about the crowds as they get their money selling it to TV round world
Nobody in England wants it....we want our test matches , ODI's , County championship etc back in August

Every club get free tickets and discounted ones including Durham, it get's them into playing cricket

my point is ...the ECB dont care about the whole crowd being let in for free!!! They just want the ground to look full for the TV in India and around world.

The competition is hated by all true cricket fans in England which ruins the month of August.

Ok fair enough, I thought you were saying all counties get free tickets for Hundred games which would be pretty pointless for Durham.
This thread is The Hundred 2025 so your post implied free tickets were for that. So could you be more specific. T20 games? How many?
The Hundred gives free or discounted tickets to Durham Cricket to use for grassroot cricket in the area

Durham Cricket give grassroots free or discounted tickets to all Durham Men & Durham Women games

And how does free tickets to a game in presumably Leeds benefit grass routes cricket in Durham?
Such tickets even unused are counted as tickets sold?

Agreed. To me English cricket has practically shut down in August .
Will watch Durham field a weakened ODC side because of the shitty 100.

Had a look at some of the overseas "talent" in the squads the other day and to state it has the cream of the game involved is incredibly disingenuous unless this was a masters tournament - Warner, Southee, Du Plessis.

Disappointed that my morals and ill-will for this farce will see me miss out on watching stars such as Ashton Turner and George Linde.

This for me. Looking through the overseas of each team and it's pretty underwhelming, one or two 'stars' but a mix of semi retired and those who are no better than the domestic players who can't get into the international side.

Birmingham: Trent Bolt, Tim Southee, Adam Milne
London: Kane Williamson, David Warner, Ashton Turner
Manchester: Noor Ahmed, Heinrich Klaasen, Rachin Ravindra
Leeds: David Miller, Mitchell Santner, Ben Dwarshuis
Oval: Rashid Khan, Donovan Ferreira, Jason Behrendroff
Southern Brave: Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell, Hilton Cartwright
Welsh Fire: Steve Smith, Chris Green, Riley Meredith
Trent: Lockie Ferguson, George Linde, Marcus Stoinis
