I’ve been down that argument before with ncb . My solution to it would be to maybe ditch the t20 and have all the counties play the 16.4 and then the whole country can be inspired. I can’t see in anyway , to spread the game by basing it in 8 areas

Not newcastle but if we had a franchise at CLS I could support that.

i think we have to lose a comp in the U.K. so the 16.4 with everyone playing if they bin t20

It just needs one, we don't need 16.4 with stupid non cricket rules. All it needed was to re-market the T20 maybe play it more in the summer, by all means throw some extra coin at it to attract different players/tv schedule but what they have done as what I've said above.... create 2 average competitions which is dividing the fanbase and ruining other formats. Is this the 2nd year of this rubbish?.... yet star players are already withdrawing :lol::lol:

Personally I think they should be one T20 completion in the country and all players available and all geographically areas covered.

Could not care less whether a team from this area was called Sunderland, Newcastle or Durham as long as it got more people involved in cricket at a younger age.

I mean this not proper cricket rules is pretty much nonsense as it is proper cricket rules.

Same way to get wickets, catches, run outs, stumpings etc etc.

Same batting boundaries 4s 6s etc etc

Only difference really is the balls instead of overs, so of course it’s proper cricket rules

That’s fine by me. When t20 started and Durham had a team with some pretty big name England players involved and the likes of wood and stokes coming through, you had pretty big crowds every game around CLS

but has time went on, we then saw the absolute travesty of Durham in a final, a team at 9 for 3 but Stokes was not allowed to bowl as he had an England match in a fortnights time,

now we have a team of very limited standard as all of our better players are either injured or not allowed to play as England calls.

so imo, bin the 100, let the top England players loose for a months t20 , the scheduling of fixtures becomes easier as there is one less competition

im convinced that would work and crowds could see stokes, Potts, carse and wood in Durham colours.

we could then properly compete again

Would you ban the IPL and Big Bash?
 
Still staggers me that the ECB and TV companies have made up a format that no one else plays, then allowed it to be shown on normal TV as well as pay TV. They also hyped the shite out of it over the "traditional" forms of cricket.

If they allowed more test, one day and t20 cricket be shown on normal TV and actually gave it some proper advertising / airtime rather than behind a subscription they would have seen decent figures and money
 
Now the bbc will have to fill in a gap of 30 mins as it’s done and dusted. Just show some farty towels please

Not sure why they could not have followed the IPL model.

One competition one window all the best players playing.

All played in the school holidays
