Anyone who has posted on here, or is a regular SAFC fan, will know my late Brother, George Summerside.
( AKA PODGE, GEORGETHEPODGE, POLEDANCER. )
Last year, SMB played a charity match against a BARMY ARMY 11, at Wearmouth CC.
Many thanks to SMB for making it a great occasion.
All who played, as well as the 800 or so in attendance, will vouch that it was a fantastic day, and we raised over £2400 for the children's sports charity A CHANCE TO SHINE.
This year we plan to hold the event again, on Sunday 25th August, at Wearmouth CC.
The cricket will be a 20/20 fun match, between pub teams from "THE JACKSONS" AND "THE HOWARD ARMS", being billed as THE CLASH OF THE TITANS!
As well as the cricket, we hope to raise money once again for A CHANCE TO SHINE, and are holding a raffle and auction.
Anyone at a loose end on Sunday, please come along, for an hour, or all day.
Its a worthy cause, and in honour of a great man, and we can all help, by pulling together to raise money for his favourite charity.
Thanks
Paul Summerside

Excellent.

Him and me didn't always see eye to eye on here, but he was clearly a very popular man and it's great to see some money being raised for worthy causes in his name.

What time does it start/finish mate ? Used to love watching the cricket over there when I was a kid with me Da, seen loads of 'stars' of the 70's there when the pro's used to play in the league (even faced a couple of balls from Winston Benjamin in a warm up!) Should be a good day.

Hope the weather is good and you's have a great day and raise lots of money.

Hope it's a good turnout, good lad was podgey(slightly opinionated ) I've got a bit graft this morning but will hopefully get along at some point in the afternoon. Who's playing for the jackos?
