Right.
I'm a bit confused by this and I'm wondering if it's actually worth my while doing it.

I've started going back to the gym (Hussah! I hear you cry).
However I've been interested in this function on the treadmill "Fat Burn".
Sounds good in theory but what I seem to be doing is going at absolute snails pace for bloody ages.
I get that the idea is to maintain a low heart rate etc but when I'm not traveling as far or burning as many kcals as I would if I say did a 10 minute jog or something, what exactly is the point of it?

Would you actually recommend fat burn or am I missing the point here?

Nah. It changes acute substrate utilisation, which will be compensated for later through the day.

I use it on the bike and cross trainer and feel I'm getting more from it than the manual or HIT option.

Well I tell you what. I'm going to the gym again tonight so I'll do it on the cross trainer while I watch the United match on the tv - hopefully!
