I wouldn’t even waste my money on a dodgy fire stick to get sky back. I got rid of it cos I was paying a bastard fortune to sit and watch adverts. Robbing bastards.

Android boxes will just make a return if needed
This! You can buy an Android 'firestick' looking device on Amazon for as little as £20.

All this will do is reduce the sale of Firesticks as people move to another Android device in whatever form.

I've got Prime and my Fire Cube does OK for now but in time I may update to summit newer and don't care what Amazon do to it as long as it works as I use my Fire Cube now.

They're only 'dodgy' because people install perfectly legal apps on them that are used to illegal stream. And they're only popular because they're cheap and reliable and easy to set up. You don't need to perform some kind of technological witchcraft to set them up, you can get the same apps on various smart TVs and other Android boxes and devices.

They've become synonymous with IPTV so if they stopped you from installing the apps on them people would just stop buying them. But it wouldn't stop IPTV, another device would just become popular instead. It used to be Android boxes 10 years ago but Firesticks were cheaper so they took off.

Will dboxes make a comeback?

There will be more apps for IPTV to do the same thing, non of the manufacturers will stop those.
