Nice reminder from the players about just good Pietersen was as well. I think many forget, or choose to ignore, due to some of the antics. Also, in hindsight, he had a point when he was moaning about burn out.
That was brilliant. Felt so sorry for Trott watching it.

Emotionally intense bloke, playing test cricket, and under a regime going all out. A bad combination. He was class in that side mind, literally digging a trench and refusing to budge.

The 2011 home series vs India was the best series performance I've seen from an England team. India came over as #1 and returned home with their tail between their legs (exception of Rahul Dravid who was class as ever).

Aye cracking series. Aside from the battle for number 1, another interesting subplot was the will he won’t he of Tendulkar’s hundredth hundred. Never got close until the final Test when Bresnan got him in the 90s, India fans turned up in their numbers, unusually for a Test series, and the atmosphere was electric throughout. Had it been on council telly I reckon it would be regarded as one of those classic series for the ages

Thought it was a great documentary, felt for Trott throughout it all.

Loved the cinematic quality of it .... but the pressures on some were little short of cruelty. The sport asks too much sometimes and the unrelenting nature of cricket at this time was wrong, even good players need a break to recover and recharge and recharge their mental batteries.

At least now there are more differences in personnel between Test, 50 over and T20 teams, it's got to help.

It's absolutely insane how much cricket gets played, and has been for some time. No wonder players end up cracking!

Watched it again the other night. Very good documentary but you have to feel for Trott - that bit at the end after he'd finished playing and him saying what he'd miss was the crack with the lads in the changing room really got me .

There’s a really good interview with the lads who made the documentary on the ‘final word podcast’ (about 50 mins in)

The podcast itself is Aussie and the nerdiest/ most knowledgeable cricket podcast around, but I love it and the interview is great.
