The crowd today...

When we were losing fans always left early but not to the level
They leave now
My take is that its the ones who came back this season.

They can't remember the days when we were losing week after week.

You support your team always through the ups and downs. If you can't watch them losing then it isn't for you.

Agree, but you’d think someone was stoning our supporters from 85 mins.

Me grandpa would leave Roker Park on 80 mins so it’s not new and it’s not a young people thing, but I do think we should be trying to discourage that culture.

Kant’s categorical imperative states that if you want to determine whether a behaviour is right or wrong, imagine that everybody did it, because if it’s okay for you it’s okay for everybody. Then consider what the world would look like if everyone did it, and if it’s shite then you shouldn’t do it.

With early leavers, if everyone did it the ground would be literally empty on 85 mins, and how shit would that look? So don’t do it unless you have a good reason.
There's the knock on too for fans wishing to stay as in disruption . Lots don't leave they just take 9 minutes to shuffle down to around the exits ,blocking peoples view .We sit on the walkway so they block the view for us . Some stewards try to move them others are clueless
I find that hard to believe tbh

Where you sit?

They were loud as fuck and tried their hardest to drown out Wise Men Say but failed lol
Agree

There’s loads say it on here but the noise does not travel at all in that ground like

I’ve sat all over this season and you can’t hear them at all from south stand etc but when you're sat at the other end of the ground you can barely hear the south stand but you can clearly see they’re making noise
We sit right under them in NE corner, back row, literally metres from them and no matter how noisy away fans are we dont hear a peep, its bizzare.
On the leaving early debate. We leave seats with a couple of minutes n walk to other end, seeing whistle as we go.

It is daft others missing 5 minute climax in s game like that but just as daft there was a stoppage about 33 minutes n thousands fecked off for a pint! Missing 12/13 minutes!!

Daft Kant

They weren't massively loud at all (a bit louder first half), but as always they just belt through a shit load of songs and don't seem arsed about what's happening in the game, it's like they're in a world of their own. We sit west stand, very top of the bowl just below the boxes. Half way between 18 yard line and half way line, south end.
Sit right under them and they’re the loudest we’ve had all season and consistently so too in fairness. Obviously had nothing to shout for on the pitch too. I agree they do seem to just sing pointless shit, but they did play like shit so didn’t really have anything to support. Maybe it’s different if they actually play well

True. When i sat in the North Stand i could never hear the South Stand. Since i sat in SWC i can never hear the away fans.

Ps - im not deaf.

Im not sure thats true mind. Had about 15k left in the ground when we equalised against leeds last season. Its always gone on with us.

A pretty big section of them never stopped singing, the entire game.
Its funny how different people hear things totally differently at the game. I was there yesterday and could hear the Man U fans literally from minute 1 till the end, they didn't stop singing and were very good.

I also thought the atmosphere wasn't fantastic from where I sat. Not bad, but nowt flash.

Loads left early in my section at 80+ minutes. Obviously individual choice & could be a whole host of reasons to leave early, but felt it was a shame with the team battling for everything, playing really against one of the best teams in the country & the game in the balance.

With all those points considered its here to stay really.
Fecking off with game on a knifeedge is just daft. We’re still in with a minor europe chance ffs.
