The Chase contestants have degraded in standard with time.

In the first few years, they were clocking 8,000 minimum. There were cases where people had scored 11,000 got kicked out by the chasers.

I think the brainy contestants have either moved on or are being screened out to reduce prize payouts with chasers being told to throw the odd question to make a programme of it.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a contestant get £11k in the cash builder.
