I might be getting old, but I much preferred games when they were judged on fun.
Everything just wants to be ultra realistic now. That's why Cannon Fodder or the original Syndicate where the ultimate games for me, even though they were just a couple of pixels really.

Aye, there's a lot of stuff you can tell was rushed in or just not play tested properly.

So many bugs with the menu system (in battle particularly).
