The BBC

In 2015 and 2016, Newsnight followed the story of the Badreddin family, who were Syrian refugees who had settled in the UK. During the year, their son Omar was tried for sexual assault and found not guilty. Two years afterwards, in 2018 and 2019, Omar Badreddin and his brother Mohamed committed multiple counts of rape. They were found guilty and were jailed on 1 March 2024. The BBC reported this. In any situation, the BBC can only report on the facts as they stand at the time, which is what we did in this case. The Badreddins' subsequent crimes are appalling, and we express our sincere sympathies to their victim.

Fair enough.

Can’t say any more than that really.

Accused of providing a PR job for child rapists. This is not about the child rapists,They've been jailed for a long time -well most of them - it's about Newsnight who have failed to follow up on this story and relay the truth to the public. This is why people are turning away from the state broadcaster.

That video is a disgrace and sums up the BBC desperate to paint any minority group as the victims. Also shows why we shouldn't be taking refugees from that part of the world.

MBH upset with wootten leaving GB News?
What a surprise you're deflecting again and got your head up your arse on this issue. It's the liberal, lefty way. Why get upset about the BBC spreading misinformation and doing a hatchet job on the people of the northeast and the bairns that live here-when you can be outraged at Dan Wooton's misdemeanours.

Also labels the people of the Newcastle and the northeast as racists.
The poor lad had never seen two people kissing before he came here and the young girls (bairns) are so much more sexually experienced. Great job BBC.
This thread went well.
Sensitive topics like this tend to get ignored on here. Always worth enlightening those that prefer to remain in denial though. You're welcome.

How dare the BBC not predict the future
The BBC, or the liberals that report for newsnight, no doubt salivated when they heard this story. What an opportunity to push the agenda of the victimised refugee family arriving in the UK - especially after the child abuse scandal.Who would care if they also trampled over and sullied the credibility and reputation of an entire city in the North east?

Im sure they basically said the young lass was a bigot and more sexually experienced than this Bloke, a puff piece nothing else, does anyone expect any different from the BBC

The only reason some people are against the BBC is that it’s had a constant stream of piss targeted towards it for years by billionaire owners of media groups who are tired of having to compete with it.

It’s exactly the same phenomena as the drip-drip effect of silly stories about the EU - and look how well that turned out! Our economy is 5% smaller than it would otherwise be. We wouldn’t have the highest tax burden and the worst public services with the extra billions that 5% represents.

In countries which don’t have similar national institution as the BBC the quality of news output and entertainment suffers.
