The atmosphere today at the sol

I’ve mentioned my grandson Sam many times over the years.
Lives in Cheshire and was the young lad spotted by Durham cricket fans sporting his Sunderland strip at an Alderley Edge cricket match. They gave him a tenner! I’ve always told him to keep the faith, and bless him he has.
His passing out parade at HMS RALEIGH in Plymouth was a few weeks ago and he was gutted that he couldn’t attend today but needless to say he is over the moon at our win and European success today!
What a day!🔴⚪😁
That's done it. Summat in me eyes.

I wish I could have been there today (obviously).

Was it really louder than the Sheff Utd playoff or the 2-2 against the mags in the Peter Reid days?

They were both incredible.
It was great put it that way. Pure passion and then joy at the result/other results filtering through.
Had all the ingredients to be special

Something massive to play for
Bank holiday weekend
Weather perfect
City buzzing
Perfect kick off time

But still had a worry that Chelsea are still Chelsea and have quality but after watching first 10 minutes of the game no way were we losing that the lads were on a different planter they were playing like man men f***ing nordi that first half I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it was different class as good as I’ve seen at the Sol performance wise and fuck me did we respond constant noise that heat in the second half tho south stand was just a sun trap
Summed up my thoughts almost exactly!

Sunday was electric.

I just knew before the game there was no way we weren't getting the job done. I said to pals we'd overwhelm Chelsea, and even though 2-1 doesn't suggest it, I think we did overwhelm them.

As someone who missed Wembley due to being on holiday, it's nagged me all year since that I missed out on something special. On Sunday, I laid that particular ghost (in my mind) to rest.
