The atmosphere today at the sol

The whole day & atmosphere was special yesterday.

The atmosphere started to build when fans got off the train at Sunderland, around 11:15, there was a roar went up, followed by Sunderland chants in the station, and walking across the Keel Crossing, before the game, thousands of people were singing/chanting, as they made their way to the stadium.

The atmosphere & noise, inside the ground, was on another level, a real fever pitch atmosphere.

There was a real buzz, about the city, around the city centre bars, before & after the match, yesterday.

As far as atmospheres go for the whole stadium, it's up there with the very best. The noise for the Ballard goal I don't think will be beaten for me. But the overall atmosphere yesterday was miles better than the Coventry play off game.

North stand were making noise all game long, even getting chants started.

THE best the sol has ever seen yesterday mate.
Can't speak for all areas but I was actually surprised by how sober people were given the late kick off
...not all people need a drink to make a racket mate ;)

There's been some fabulous atmospheres against Chelsea over the years hasn't there? FA cup quarter final in 92, 4-1 under Reid, 3-2 under Allardyce. Yesterday probably topped the lot!

Great to see everyone stop behind but it seemed to lose a bit of organisation after a good while . Did the team eventually circle the pitch as a unit ? We stayed for what seemed like a long time and everyone was just gathered in a group for ages. People slowly streaming out

Everyone getting in early too

It was fantastic. Had the bairn there today, her 3rd game(she’s unbeaten). She absolutely loved it!

The walk over keel and people chanting, people talking to her on the concourse before the game, meeting Sampson and Delilah, the build up and display, the atmosphere and game itself, people high fiving her at FT, dancing at FT.

Saying walking back over after the match ‘I’m so lucky to get that treat 4 days before my birthday’

🥺
I’ve got something in my eye you bassa

It's got to be a horrible place to be an away supporter when it's bouncing like that

Horrible for opposition players too they have nowhere to turn when the full stadium is up for it like yesterday.

RLB said Chelsea could not cope with the energy in the stadium and its not the first time an away team has found that out this season.
